Patricia Jackson Napanangka Description

Patricia Jackson is a young Pintupi woman from the Kintore community in the Northern Territory. Born in 1983, Patricia grew up in the settlements of Kiwirrkurra, further west of Kintore and Kintore itself.

Patricia comes from a long line of artists, and is the granddaughter of prolific Papunya Tula artist Walangkura Napanangka. Patricia started to paint when in her early 20s, originally assisting her grandmother with the background dotting on her paintings.

In 2009 Patricia branched out on her own and is developing her own distinctive interpretation and representations of her grandmother's country between Tjukurla and Lupul.

Patricia paints the traditional stories of her grandmother’s country in a contemporary and vibrant style consisting of bold linear designs, circles and fine dot work. Patricia’s paintings are expressive and dynamic with bright colour combinations.
